First Cooperative Venture with
Vermont Council on World Affairs
 |
The first cooperative venture between Building Bridges and the Vermont Council on World Affairs started modestly in September with visitors from Kazakstan touring the Calvin Coolidge Historic Site. Board member Charles Buell, who also heads the Calvin Coolidge Memorial Foundation, led the group through the historic buildings, to bring an extra dimension to the Coolidge story for the mainly Muslim visitors. (Charles was not in the cow suit!) The Kazakh visitors were in Vermont to study our regulations and structures to assist people with disabilities. Two members of the delegation were in wheelchairs, and they appreciated the handicaped access to many of the buildings at the site. |
